We tested all the details of the Xperia XZ1 smartphone, Sony's latest flagship!
The Sony Xperia XZ1 was introduced at the IFA 2017 as the latest flagship phone of the company . Sony continues to evolve design features that have only changed in the last few years. Omnibalance design continues. Although it is reported that Sony is going to switch to a new design in its new models, we will not be able to see it without introducing new phones. In the meantime, it is clear that even though Sony is squeezed out of these design lines, there still is a user who loves this angular design. I have to accept that too.
The Xperia XZ1 is a striking model with the Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4 GB RAM, 19 MP rear camera, HDR support for the screen and the first phone to come with the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. What does Peki offer in details? What is the price? Let's go check it out now.

Design
The Xperia XZ1 protects the OmniBalance design lines with minor differences as we have just said. Lastly, if you remember from the Xperia family, we have reviewed the Xperia XZ Premium model. Of course there is great intimacy between the two in design, but the Xperia XZ1 is a slimmer and lighter phone than that model. The 7.4 mm thick Xperia XZ1 weighs 155 grams . In this sense, the XZ Premium is more comfortable to use than the model, and is more stable on the hand, obviously.
Again, as we say, Sony has refined its design to a small extent, especially when compared to the predecessor model Xperia XZ, with a thickness of 8.1 mm and a thickness of 7.4 mm. It seems like a small improvement, but remember that we were talking about the length of time that we had to look at the Premium model.
The Xperia XZ1 has a metallic body cut off from a solid aluminum piece as it continues, but with the frame edges it lags behind the latest trend. Compared to the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 , the Xperia XZ1, with its screen frames, is of course negated by its screen-to-body ratio. We will examine this in our screen step.
One of the noteworthy design details of the Xperia XZ1 is antenna lines on three sides. Sony , which dictates the location of the antennas with stylish lines , also says that the antenna placement is set to increase network connectivity, regardless of how the user holds the phone in his hand. In short, it is unlikely that all of the antennas in the Xperia XZ1 will be blocked.
The phone has rounded edges. Thus, as we have just said, the handset provides a good grip on the hand, and the back-panel texture also gives a premium feel.
When we look at the left side of the phone, we see a drawer holding the SIM card and the microSD card slot. Here, Sony, which connects the microSD card slot to the sky, left the SIM card tray idle; you have to pull it off with your tornado. For this reason, you may not be able to prevent the two from popping out of one of the cards, but you can not be sure that you have correctly placed your SIM card in place; I have to say that.
On the right side we find the usual power button with sound and fingerprint sensor . We have also mentioned in our earlier Xperia studies that the location and usage of the fingerprint sensor is really convenient and convenient. Sony, even if it will change the design in the future, we should definitely carry this mode of use to the new models.
Also on the same side is a shutter release button as a Sony classic . In addition, the stereo speakers are still on top and bottom of the screen. So when you watch the video or play the game you get nice sound from the left and right side of the screen. We will also touch on this in the next steps.
At the top of the phone is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and at the bottom is a USB-C port . Let's also say that the design part is lastly a protection of IP68 level as a Xperia classic and I will now go into the details of the operating system with the screen.

Screen
The Xperia XZ1 owns a 5.2-inch screen. The resolution is Full HD . Of course, competitors have 2K models in the same segment. In this sense, the Xperia XZ1 seems to be one step behind, but Sony is already playing with Xperia XZ Premium on the screen resolution. In this sense it is necessary to consider this as an option that is extensively presented to the user.
Finding HDR support, Triluminos Display and X-Realty Engine , plus points for the Xperia XZ1's display are undoubtedly. The phone also offers the opposite of this, especially at HDR, YouTube , Netflix and Amazon Prime services to enjoy the service.
The missing aspect of the screen is obviously the screen-to-body ratio. With a heavy frame and a 16: 9 aspect ratio, the screen-to-body ratio is 68.6 percent , which is far behind the competition. Just as the phone is lighter and thinner compared to its predecessors, we think Sony will sign much better models if it goes in the future.
We may also mention that the Xperia XZ1 can be used as a space for the frames on the top and bottom edges to be viewed from the side of the cup, where you can rest your fingers in the horizontal position while playing games or watching videos without closing the screen.

OS
The Xperia XZ1 came with the latest version of Android 8.0 , making it the first phone on the market with Android 8.0 . As soon as you remove it from the phone box, many updates will keep coming. In this sense, you will not have a problem updating.
Using the interface we already know for many years as the interface, Xperia XZ1 continues to use its advantages with Oreo. Here are some information about the interface.
For example, if you press the screen for a long time, you will be able to access a field where you can access widget, wallpaper, theme, transition and grid settings. In the Settings section you can find a section where you can change the color gamut and contrast setting on the screen. You can also manually adjust the display white balance from the same section. Lastly, let's say you can use Xperia Transfer Mobile to get your data from your old phone while going to the Xperia XZ1, and now let's take a closer look at a specific implementation of the operating system.

3D rendering technology
As you walk through the interface , you'll come across an application called 3D Renderer . With this 3D Renderer application, you can transfer yourself to 3D space. It is also possible to move yourself to an enhanced reality environment from the AR Effect section accessible from camera application for years in Xperia .
With the 3D renderer application you have to complete the tutorials that are available to you to model any object in face, head, food or free-shooting modes. Once you've finished scanning, you can share them from social media, set them as wallpaper, or even extract them as models from 3D printers. Once you have your model ready, you can move your work to the real world by sending the .OBJ format file to a third-party 3D printer service.
Although it is quite impressive as an idea, of course this is not a feature that will buy a phone by itself. But I have to say that the buyers will have a lot of fun with this application. Because after you have scratched your own face , you can select the Minyotürler effect in the AR Effect section , display yourself as various figures on the actual objects on your phone screen, and even enjoy funny videos.
At the operating speed of this applet, we can say that we like the processing speed of face and head scanning. We found the scan process to work more comfortably in good light, also in free scan mode. It is useful to say again, the weakness of the light when scanning is causing the app to almost grumble. For that reason, try to be as good as possible.
On the other hand, when you are scanning your face or head, getting good results is not only good lighting but also your skill. I have to say this. For much better results, you can play on your work with 3D software after you have scanned. After that , you can print results with 3D printer .
In the meantime, Sony's AR Effect software needs to be updated. Because when you add your own face to the AR effect, if you apply magnification to the figure or other actions, it begins to bullshit after a while. It's like bullshit, you can not drag the figure anywhere you want. At this point you need to reset the scene.

Technical staff and performance
Now to the technical staff and performance notes of the Xperia XZ1. The phone in our hand is undoubtedly the flagship in terms of level. At his heart is the Xperia XZ1 with a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 GB of RAM, an Adreno 540 graphics unit and 64 GB of storage. You can increase this space up to 256 GB via microSD card.
When we look at the details of the processor, the Xperia XZ1 powered by Kyro chips running at 4 kHz 2.35 GHz and 1.9 GHz with 4 cores offers LTE connectivity at Cat16 level. The phone also offers NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi support, providing 1024/150 Mbps data transfer support.
It is clear that we have seen a lot of impressive phone calls in terms of technical staff in the recent period. There is no doubt that the prices in this point are also very important. At the level of the admiral we are now seeing a model of 5000 TL and above. The price of the Xperia XZ1 is around 2599 TL . In this sense , we can say that the phone is close to the LG G6 , Nokia 8 and HTC U11 in terms of price . The Galaxy S8 , Note 8 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro stand at the top of the price range. For this reason, the Xperia XZ1 is one of the more balanced models in terms of price, and it does not make much difference in terms of performance. Now I see that with the tables.
As we have seen on the tables, the Xperia XZ1 is very close to the latest flagship flagship phone. Even so, we can not see the occasional clutter model apart from the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus models. In this sense, we can easily say that it is one of the suitable models in terms of price / performance.
Soon we will also touch on the battery performance of the phone. But first let's talk about two points in the performance step. One is speaker and the other is gaming and heat performance.
The Xperia XZ1 also reflects the performance we have seen on the charts we just shared. You can play popular popular games with this phone easily; do not worry about this. On the other hand, the heat point is a bit obvious. After using it for a while, you feel that the back surface of the phone is significantly warmed. You can feel it during long game sessions or 4K video shoot. However, this is not a very high level. If you remember , there is no such thing as the famous HTC One M9 models with heat of a period .
If it comes to the speakers, the speakers on the front stereo are more than enough for the games, the movies and the music. The S-Force Surround technology used for sound is doing a good job here. This means that the Xperia XZ1, which provides 50 percent more sound pressure than previous phones, also allows you to play sound on high-resolution sound with both depth and sound settings.
You can see the test results from the Sony Xperia XZ1, right above the video.

Battery life
The Xperia XZ1 has a battery of 2700 mAh capacity. Apparently Sony has gained some weight in the Xperia XZ1 by reducing its battery capacity. Because the Xperia XZ model 2900 mAh, Xperia XZ Premium model with 3230 mAh battery was out.
Of course, you should not be in a negative judgment by looking at the capacity of the phone. We can say for as long as we use the phone that the Xperia XZ1 can provide a battery life that will take off all day. But of course you need to wear it at night.
Our general use scenario, in the morning hours, remove it from charging 7 3 hours Spotify and podcast we listen Xperia xz1'l the day, Whatsapp, email, and we continued with the use of social media and such a use in the evening of 30 percent we find a battery with some level. In the night we had a phone charger at 11.
High-intensity tasks such as gaming and HDR video , of course, cause the battery to drain more quickly. If you have a lot of these activities, it makes sense to carry the charger with you. Fortunately, the phone features fast charging and you can charge 50 percent of the phone in 30 minutes. Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging feature on the phone.
Intelligent Stamina mode is still in place. If an application consumes too much power in the backplane, the phone notifies you and helps you get more battery life whenever possible.
To share as a direct figure, we can say from the battery test we applied to the Xperia XZ1 that we spent 9 hours and 35 minutes of online roaming and that the phone reached full capacity battery charge rate in 2 hours and 54 minutes .
Camera
The camera on the Sony Xperia XZ1 is equivalent to the camera on the Xperia XZ Premium with the 19 MP Exmor RS sensor . With a SteadyShot, f / 2.0 aperture and 960 frames of super slow motion video recording that offers five-axis image stabilization, Sony has added several new numbers to its Android Oreo update.
One of the new features that the camera has earned is the fact that it stands out in the burst. We can use phase-sensitive autofocus when shooting in burst mode . If you remember that the phase detection system was already working on the video recording side too; This time, Sony has also brought it to the serial mode.
The second camera development is countered by Predictive Capture , the Predictive Capture feature. The Xperia XZ1 captures 3 photos when you press the shutter button and take a photo with the rear camera, so you can choose people's smile or the best frame.
As far as rear camera performance is concerned, we can easily say that we get impressive results in daytime shots and good lighting. As for low light, we should not say we are weak. If we share with you the photos we take shortly, you will see that already.
When we look at the front camera, we see a 22mm wide-angle 13 MP camera that you can use in Snapchat and video calls . We can say that it is appropriate for the nice selfies you can share in your social media accounts. In front camera use, let's also say that you can use the screen as a flash in low light environments.
If we come to the video point, of course we need to talk about 4K video recording capability and 960 frames super slow motion mode. Both of these features work the same way as in Xperia XZ Premium. 4K video recording is an advantage, but you will have to transfer the recordings to another device in order to see 4K; as we say the Xperia XZ1's screen is Full HD.
If we mention 960 frames video feature, as we said in our premium review, the light is very important here. You can enjoy a pleasant use in lighted environments. Otherwise you will not enjoy the view from the grains.
