Focus: Sharing of the basic features, Motorola Moto G5S Plus review phone view, photo quality, processor speed.

We have thoroughly reviewed the Moto G family's first dual-camera phone, the Moto G5S Plus.

Recently we have seen and continue to see lots of Plus models among smartphones. The Motorola Moto G5S Plus at hand is the continuation of the Motorola Moto G5 Plus introduced in February this year. The Lenovo team, which did not put much time together after the salafi modeling, set the Moto G5S Plus shortly and drove it to the market after only 6 months. The two phones, which are almost identical in terms of technical staff, of course also contain some differences. There is a blind eye at the design point. In addition, the screen has been enlarged to a size of 5.5 inches. It was 5.2 inches in the predecessor model. We will talk about all of them, let's start by designing as always.

Motorola Moto G5S Plus design

The Moto G5S Plus is a model updated with the design. While the back of the Salaf model is made of aluminum-reinforced polycarbonate material, the Moto G5S Plus in my possession is entirely covered with a metal ceiling. The phone, which looks better on the hand, thus, of course, has gained a more durable structure on the other hand.

The Moto G5S Plus with gray and gold colors offers the fingerprint sensor on the front. There are no other physical buttons on the phone, but virtual buttons are placed on the screen instead.

The left side of the phone has a microSD card and a SIM card drawer, a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top, sound and power buttons on the right, and a microUSB slot and speaker.

For those who are curious right now, Moto G5S Plus does not have IP67 or 68 water protection. Instead, the headphone input and USB port surroundings are protected by a waterproof nano-coating , so that they are somewhat resistant to water splashes .

Lastly, let's also say that there is no headset in the box of the Moto G5S Plus without closing this section. Only the charger comes out of the box. Let's also mention that there is fast charge support on the phone.

Motorola Moto G5S Plus Display and operating system

In Moto G5S Plus the screen has been updated to provide a wider image. The phone has a 5.5-inch screen. But the resolution is still the same, at 1080p, Full HD.

The IPS LCD panel is in very good condition, even though it does not offer very saturated color tones as in OLED screens. If you do not like the tones, there are 2 different modes where you can adjust the color tone from the interface.

It is also worth noting that the image angles for the screen are equal and the brightness loss is relatively low.

The ratio of the screen to the body is 71 percent . The screen, which owns a 401 ppi pixel density, is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

In Moto G5S Plus we see the Android 7.1.1 operating system. However, let's give it the gospel of Android 8.0 Oreo.

Using the same interface as Moto Z2 Play , which we have just reviewed recently as an interface, Moto G5S Plus offers similar functions to us again. One of them is Moto Moketler applications. By applying them, you can use the phone in different ways. For example, you can shake the phone twice to turn on the flash light, and you still need to turn the phone to turn on the camera. On the other hand, it does so by lifting the phone up to stop incoming calls.

A screen called Moto Impression is also presented in the same place . From here you can activate the Night Screen of the phone. With this, the screen color tone of the hotter than the Moto G5S Plus, thus reducing the eye fatigue at night.

Finally, let's also say that you can see the battery life of your phone, the wardrobe around the clock ring on the screen.

Motorola Moto G5S Plus Technical staff and performance

The Moto G5S Plus has the same technical infrastructure as the predecessor model. No changes were made to this section and the battery. The Snapdragon 625 processor is powered by the Cortex-A53, which is also an 8-core and 2.0 GHz frequency. The graphics processor is the Adreno 506 .

Available in two models with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of memory and 64 GB of memory with 4 GB of RAM , the phone is available with a 3 GB RAM. The battery of Moto G5S Plus is 3000 mAh capacity.

We will pass on the performance results, but let's also mention the technical staff: 4G LTE support is on the phone . At Cat7 level, LTE supports 300/150 Mbps data transmission. Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11n wireless network standards are also on the phone. NFC support is active and includes FM radio.

If we go through the results we receive over the phone, let's give the synthetic results first. The score of Moto G5S Plus from AnTuTu Benchmark is 64660 . With this score, the Galaxy S6, the Asus ZenFone 3, the Moto G5S Plus, the LG V10, the S6 edge + and the Moto Z2 Play are all behind the Lenovo P2.

When we come to GeekBench scores, we still see middle class performance. The Moto G5S Plus, which scored 844 points in the single-core scenario , stands here again with Asus ZenFone 3 and Moto Z2 Play. Honor 7 and LG G4.

When we look at the multi-core scenario, the Moto G5S Plus, which scored 4316 points for this performance , is close to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, a period admiral. However, we can say that it is relatively in line with Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) and Asus ZenFone 3.

If we leave the results on an edge and evaluate it based on real-time use, the Moto G5S Plus is one of the best middle-class phones in good standing . You also have a lot of trouble with gaming performance. However, of course, this class of phones should not expect a high frame rate. You can play games like Asphalt 8 in this line of performance.

An interesting problem we have encountered with the phone is that the Moto G5S Plus sometimes causes the applications to crash. For example, we saw the application collapse during our AnTuTu test. The same problem also occasionally appeared in different applications. We hope that Lenovo will resolve this issue with an update.

You can see the results we got with Moto G5S Plus and the comparison charts right on our video above.

Motorola Moto G5S Plus Battery life

Let's also export information about the battery of Moto G5S Plus. As we said before, the battery of the phone is at 3000 mAh capacity. It is sad that there has not been a relatively recent update to the issue in this regard. However, the battery still does a good job.

In the real-time usage test we made on the battery, we saw that the whole day was comfortable. In the relatively busy usage scenario we made with the phone, we actively used the camera, and on the phone calls and social media usage, we arrived at 40% battery level.

Also in our usual 90-minute Full HD video test, at a 16 percent level, the Moto G5S Plus ties it to the larger screen, even though the predecessor G5 Plus is behind the 12 percent result from the same test.

When the battery is exhausted, Lenovo's TurboPower fast charging technology allows you to use up to 6 hours with a 15-minute charge .

Motorola Moto G5S Plus Camera

Another point that Moto G5S Plus is updated with respect to its predecessor is the camera. Lenovo, which once again offers dual cameras on the back, has given Moto G models its first dual-camera phone with the Moto G5S Plus. Thus, the recently-popular camera feature of the field-depth photography is also provided with the Moto G5S Plus . Of course you will guess that this mode of the Moto G5S Plus does not work as well as the admiral level phones. However, we can say that we see impressive results, especially in daylight photos - we will share the photos with you soon after we have taken them.

With the Moto G5S Plus you need to take Depth Active mode to take depth-of-field pictures. If you want to change the depth of field after taking a photo in this mode, you need to use the Advanced Editor. From here you can also assign different effects to the depth of field.

If we put this on the edge, let's also say that we have a Professional Mode like the one we saw in Moto Z2 Play , and that there is panorama and HDR support.

The camcorder of the Moto G5S Plus shoots beautifully as we say it. You can even get more details like the Sony Xperia XA1 in photos you take in daylight . But there is a point, we were bored. It's also a shutter lag.

When you take pictures with the phone, you are stuck in the shutter release. Even when we placed the phone side by side with the Moto G4, we saw that the Moto G5S Plus was delayed. The time we're talking about is a 0.5 second delay per photo, even after the focus is on. Yet Lenovo , will also make a software update for it, we think.

If we talk about the camera's night shooting perfomance, we can easily say that we get appropriate results. So, yeah maybe you do not get much detail and you are getting a little bit of a grain, but the images you take are available. Of course you should not expect a premium level in this class.

Finally let's say that you can record 4K videos in 30 frames by phone, record 60 frames in 1080p and LED flash support on the front camera, and let's leave you alone with the photos we took with Moto G5S Plus.
